Today, I'm proud to announce that Assertible is the latest member to join to OpenAPI Initiative. We're excited to be part of the drive to help push the API ecosystem forward and help create a standard for APIs, the backbone of the internet. Read the official press release on the OpenAPI blog

We hope to provide insight based on our experience with helping thousands of teams and developers test their OpenAPI backed REST APIs, and want to assist in advancing a part of the market this is often overlooked: API testing and quality assurance.

Here's our official statement on joining the OpenAPI initiative:

At Assertible, we view the OpenAPI initiative as a critical component in creating and sustaining a coherent ecosystem that will allow developers, businesses, and the general population to benefit, advance, and utilize the backbone of the web: APIs. Not only does the OpenAPI initiative provide a foundation for rapidly creating and integrating otherwise disparate services, it also advances the entire community, from creators to consumers, by providing a unified starting point for discussion and future development, which has proven worthwhile and unfettered by rapid changes in technologies. We're excited to be a part of pushing the industry forward.

Assertible and OpenAPI

From the very first version of Assertible we have supported automated testing for Swagger and OpenAPI specifications. This has, by far, been one of our most used and talked about feature in Assertible, which we believe is an indicator for the great developer and tester experience provided by OpenAPI.

We are developing a deeper integration for OpenAPI specifications based on the feedback and discussions we've had with some great companies using Assertible with their specifications. It's currently possible to set up a fully automated test suite from an OpenAPI spec, and we're planning support for automatically generated JSON Schema assertions for each test.

Thoughts? Let's talk!

Want to talk about how Assertible and OpenAPI can improve you development cycle, or have any feedback on us joining the OpenAPI initiative? We'd love to hear from you:
